Problem:
A container terminal in Hengelo needed a strong foundation capable of withstanding the heavy loads caused by the container traffic at the site. MGX Group came up with a low-cost solution with a high compressive strength.

A container terminal in Hengelo needed a strong foundation capable of withstanding the heavy loads caused by the container traffic at the site. MGX Group came up with a low-cost solution with a high compressive strength.
Solution:
MGX Group laid a foundation of secondary materials and Megatrax® with a compressive strength of >80N/mm2. The base consists of 50 centimetres of foundation covered by 10 cm of street sand, finished with concrete paving stones. Unlike standard foundations that achieve strengths of around 10N/mm2, Megatrax® offers a much stronger high-quality product. The solution created for this foundation was made sustainable and cost-effective by replacing the primary raw materials with secondary materials.
